A HEPEX Testbed is more open-ended than an experiment, and centers on a collection of data and/or methods that are made accessible to the community to facilitate research into particular aspects of HEPS. A testbed can be oriented toward a geographic region (e.g., a single basin or a region containing multiple basins), and toward a phenomenon (e.g., snow data assimilation) or theme, perhaps using a diversecollection of basins around the globe. The data and methods resources of a testbed may be used to support a number of specific experiments, and may grow with community contributions.
